Yoido Richensia consists of 2 forty-story towers connected by a seven-story building. Located in downtown Seoul along the scenic Han River, the location of this project was a major consideration in the building’s final design. The project is situated next to one of the tallest buildings in Korea in the heart of a very prestigious downtown site. The challenge was to design a building with high visibility which would stand out among the other high-rise structures round it. The mixed-use facility includes 235 upscale luxury apartments and 252 office suites. The orientation of the two towers is skewed to maximize the southern exposure and help provide visual privacy for the residential units. The residential space is divided into individually owned luxury housing units within the towers.
Each unit is approximately 185 square meters (2,000 square feet). The connector building consists of six floors of office suites which were primarily designed for business use and lodging purposes. The structure also includes a fitness center, retail shops, a rooftop community area and below-grade parking.
