This historic, 20-story tower located in downtown Battle Creek requires an extensive 10,000 square foot renovation to accommodate adaptive reuse and to ensure compliance with current life safety and accessibility requirements. Phase I of the project calls for the redesign of the top 10 floors converting them for residential occupancy.
It has oriented units to showcase magnificent, downtown views. The open and modern floor plans will result in attractive apartments that will invite residents with a variety of needs.
The design modifications to the exterior restore much of the building’s original charm and character at the street level. This building has been submitted for inclusion on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and the design team is coordinating all efforts to secure tax credit eligibility for the historic building and working with all governing agencies to carry forward the project through approval processes.
