The Farmington Hills Corporate Campus overlooking interstate 696 in suburban Detroit is made up of six buildings, varying in size from 75,000 sf to 325,000 square feet. The site is situated in a wetland area and Yamasaki was responsible for creating a master plan which would preserve the environment while also providing scenic views of the natural landscape and wooded areas.
The buildings that make up the campus are designed to accommodate a variety of uses. The availability of spec or build to suit buildings allows for more options and enhanced flexibility for the developer. Arranged to complement one another each building also features different exterior facades expressing the individuality and diversity of each occupant.
Tenants include Motorola whose Automotive and Industrial Electronics Group occupy a 125,000 sf office building and GDX Automotive with a 74,000 sf office and research facility. Allstate Insurance occupies a 182,000 sf facility. Alcoa is also a major tenant on the campus.
