YAMASAKI was hired to design a 74,000 square foot new corporate headquarters building for Stryker, a results-oriented Fortune 500 company that specializes in developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art orthopedic devices and medical equipment.

The simple yet elegant building, designed during a time of senior leadership change and unprecedented growth, is based on straight forward, yet rich elements that speak to Stryker’s strengths – quietly reserved, yet highly innovative and successful. The building’s two wings are joined together with an elliptical two-story atrium offering employees a place to come together and maximizing collaboration opportunities across divisions.
